Solo mining Bitcoin Cash

The community asked for it: FindMyBlock also runs a Bitcoin Cash solo pool. With the same machines, your odds of finding a block are about 270 times better, for a block worth about 270 times less. Bitcoin stays at the heart of this site: here is what Bitcoin Cash changes for a small miner, with figures and proof.

Same machines, another network

Bitcoin Cash is another currency, born from a split of Bitcoin in 2017. It uses the same calculation, SHA-256: a Bitaxe, a NerdQAxe or an Avalon Nano can mine either one. You just switch pool and enter a Bitcoin Cash address instead of your Bitcoin address.

What changes is the size of the network. Both find a block roughly every ten minutes, but the Bitcoin Cash network is about 270 times smaller: its difficulty is about 270 times lower, and every machine weighs 270 times more.

Another difference: Bitcoin Cash adjusts its difficulty at every block, not every two weeks as Bitcoin does. When big miners arrive or leave, your odds move from one day to the next.

Your odds, machine by machine

Chance of finding at least one block within a year, solo
Machine Bitcoin Bitcoin Cash
NerdNOS 0.16 TH/s 1 / 119,700 1 / 439
Bitaxe Gamma 1.2 TH/s 1 / 16,000 1 / 59
NerdQAxe++ 4.8 TH/s 1 / 3,990 1 / 15
NerdOctaxe 9.65 TH/s 1 / 1,980 13%
Antminer S21 200 TH/s 1 / 96 94%

Over ten years, a Bitaxe Gamma would have about a 16% chance of finding at least one block on Bitcoin Cash, against 0.063% on Bitcoin.

What a block is worth

A Bitcoin Cash block pays 3.125 BCH, plus tiny fees: about $930 at today’s price. A Bitcoin block pays about 3.137 BTC, or about $255,000. The prize is therefore about 270 times smaller.

That makes sense: miners go where it pays most, until the two balance out. On average, a machine therefore earns about the same on either: roughly $13 a year per TH/s on Bitcoin, $13 on Bitcoin Cash, pool fee included.

So mining Bitcoin Cash does not pay more on average. What changes is the shape of the lottery: on Bitcoin, a huge prize a small machine will almost never see; on Bitcoin Cash, a more modest prize, but within reach of a home machine. And you receive BCH, not bitcoin.

6 blocks already found by the pool

2 of these blocks were found by home machines: a NerdQAxe++ on 25 September 2026, then a Bitaxe on 1 October 2026. The other 4, by ASICs, 3 of them with hashrate I rented myself.

The proof. Every block found by the pool carries the “FindMyBlock BCH” signature in its coinbase transaction, the first in the block, the one that creates the reward. Open a block on the explorer: the signature is in the coinbase data, and the reward goes out in two outputs, 98.5% to the address of the miner who found it and 1.5% to the pool fee. The pool never holds anyone’s funds.

List read daily from the pool; every block hash comes from the pool’s Bitcoin Cash node. Miners’ addresses are not shown here.

Mining Bitcoin Cash on FindMyBlock

Three settings, just like Bitcoin:

Server, your machines stratum+tcp://eu.bch.findmyblock.xyz:4335
Server, rentals stratum+tcp://eu.bch.findmyblock.xyz:4338 (NiceHash, MiningRigRentals)
User your Bitcoin Cash address, a dot, the miner’s name
Password x

You need a Bitcoin Cash address of your own, in the bitcoincash:q… format, from a wallet whose keys you hold (which wallet to choose). A Bitcoin bc1 address does not work on this pool. The 1.5% fee is taken from the reward of a block found, and nothing otherwise.

Then follow your machine on bch.findmyblock.xyz: type your address to see your hashrate and best shares.

Bitcoin stays the priority

This site, my videos and my reviews stay focused on Bitcoin, and the FindMyBlock Bitcoin pool stays fee-free. The Bitcoin Cash pool is one more option, opened because you asked for it: for those who prefer a smaller prize within reach of a small machine.

For your Bitcoin odds: the solo mining calculator and the blocks found solo. A question? Discord is there for that.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the odds of finding a block better on Bitcoin Cash?

Because the Bitcoin Cash network is about 270 times smaller than Bitcoin’s, and its difficulty about 270 times lower. Both find a block roughly every ten minutes, so the same machine has about 270 times the chance.

Do you earn more by mining Bitcoin Cash?

On average, no: a Bitcoin Cash block is worth about $930, against about $255,000 for a Bitcoin block, and the two balance out. What changes is the shape of the lottery: a smaller prize, but within reach of a small machine.

Can you mine Bitcoin Cash with a Bitaxe?

Yes: Bitcoin Cash uses the same calculation as Bitcoin, SHA-256, so the same machines. Just switch pool and enter a Bitcoin Cash address. A Bitaxe has already found a block on FindMyBlock BCH.

How can you check that a block was found by the pool?

Open the block on a Bitcoin Cash explorer: its coinbase transaction, the first in the block, carries the “FindMyBlock BCH” signature, and the reward goes straight to the address of the miner who found it.

Which address should I use?

A Bitcoin Cash address from a wallet whose keys you hold, in the bitcoincash:q… format. A Bitcoin bc1 address does not work on this pool.
