About Pixel

I am Pixel, and Pixel Pow is my channel and this site. I have been mining Bitcoin at home since 2017, and filming it all since 2020, in French: the settings, the real figures, and what goes wrong.

My journey

2017 an RX 580 graphics card to mine Ethereum
2020 the @pixel_pow YouTube channel
2023 my first Bitaxe, 400 GH/s
2024 my own Bitcoin node
2025 FindMyBlock, my solo pool, opened to everyone in July
2026 FindMyMiners, an app to manage your miners, in the works
Today 13 machines, about 50 TH/s, no block

Why I mine

None of it was planned. A graphics card first, then the wish to depend on nobody: my own machines, my own node, my own pool. It is my way of helping, at my own scale, to keep the network decentralized.

On paper I should switch it all off: 500 to 600 W around the clock, about €70 of electricity a month on my French Tempo plan. The bill arrives every month, the block never does. But my machines are not running for nothing. In winter their heat warms the room, and the Avalon Nano 3S is even designed for it. My node checks every block itself: I do not have to trust anyone.

Today two pools, Foundry and AntPool, find almost one block in two, and six pools find more than 80% of them. I will not change that on my own. But every machine mining solo in someone’s home is a bit of hashrate none of these giants control.

How I test the machines

Every review is done at home, with the machine on my own network. When I can, I measure with a wall meter. Otherwise each review says where its figures come from: the machine’s own interface, or the maker’s rated figures.

When a brand sends me a machine, it is stated at the top of the review, and my partner codes are labelled as such. All reviews and the comparison: home Bitcoin miner reviews. For brands: work with me.

My projects

FindMyBlock, the solo mining pool I mine on myself: 0% fee, non-custodial, the reward goes straight to the miner’s address. Open to everyone since July 2025.

FindMyMiners, an app to follow and manage your miners. Coming soon.
